Foxy Brown Goes Home To Def Jam

After an emotional departure from The Island Def Jam Music Group in 2002 and a failed venture with Sean Combs' Bad Boy label, Foxy Brown re-signs to Def Jam as one of Jay-Z's initial executive moves as president of the label.
Before leaving, Foxy recorded an enormous amount of songs for Def Jam which was to be the double disc set Ill Na Na 2: The Fever.
Since then she completely scrapped the project and started recording her Black Roses LP, which reportedly will include collaborations with Barrington Levy, Dido and Luther Vandross.
While details are still vague on whether or not the signing will be in conjunction with Jay-Z's rumored S.Carter imprint, her first studio album in five years will be the the first of new releases from Def Jam which will include 112, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, and Memphis Bleek.
The signing comes in light of Jay-Z and Foxy Brown's much public reconciliation two year ago at Jay-Z's public Madison Square Garden concert.
Since then, she has appeared on the dysfunctional The Best Of Both Worlds Tour and the accompanying album which rocketed to number 1 on the billboard charts within its first week of release.
Ok, so back in the day Foxy was my girl. She fell off, but I'm hoping this little reunion with Jay will produce something hot! And oh, what the hell is Jay doing as President of Island Def Jam...did I miss something?

hopefully jay will hook inga up with some lyrics.
please. ok i ain't saying inga's done but what she gonna bring to the table.
remember listening to her tune "the letter". she's got mad talent. just 2 caught up in versace hatchi. black rose.
definetly hope that jay inks some rhymes for her but as it stands I aint really a big fan. Loved her debut rhyme on I shot ya but since then she's disappointed me. Does the sister have the skills is what I'm asking, like obi said she's too caught up in the haute couture references
ahhh, come on her rhyming is some of the better out there among female rappers! I hear what y'all are saying though on the fashion hype, but I think the talent and a whole lot of potential is there. The real question is...will she let that talent and potential shine?
I'm sorry, but I think the real question is will she utilize the ghostwriting that she had on the first album to get herself back on top, instead of being hardheaded like Lil' Kim post-Biggie, and trying to do it on her on. Jay-Z wrote the lion's share of Foxy's shit back in the day, at least the shit that they played on the radio. So, I think you're right, Maegen, this collabo might just put her back at the top of the female game...but Jay's muppet-looking ass will probably have to prop her grinch-looking ass up. Ugh, talk about a motley crew. Oh, and Jay-Z was asked to head Def Jam after he "retired" from the game last year. He just started like a month or so ago. I personally think his next order of business should be to yank DMX's contract.
