Oops, there goes my shirt....

up over my head...Oh my!!!!

On Wednesday, I went to the Tweet and Ceelo concert at HOB. Major shout out to my friend Brian who got us comps to see the show. I hope you get that job SOON!!!

As usual, I enjoyed another fabulous show. The Southern Hummingbird, as G-Fab as she was, has impressive vocals. I wish she would have used them a bit more, but I was definitely glad to see her live. She's always been one of those artists for me who I have the album (because someone gave it to me) but never really listened to it thoroughly because I was only hyped about a couple of songs. Well, needless to say after this concert, I haven't stopped listening to the album. I have a newfound appreciation for Southern Hummingbird and I'm looking forward to the new album, It's Me Again, dropping next year!!!

Now supposedly, the concert didn't sell that well. Maybe, it was because there was virtually no promotion for the show anywhere. If Brian didn't tell me about it, I would have never known and I get the HOB calendar updates regularly and I make plans accordingly!!! For a national tour sponsored by Seagram's Gin, they could have done much better than that!!!!

Opening for Tweet and Ceelo was a relative newcomer to the industry, Teedra Moses, who I've heard a bit of buzz over these past few weeks. Teedra has great vocals and if she were a veteran artist, I would have appreciated all of her extra stage antics, but I didn't. She made me dizzy at times!! I'm glad she was hyped and all, but she was more into her performance than most of the audience. I did however really enjoy her songs and the quality of her voice. I will be picking up her album that she plugged 100 times, Complex Simplicity, definitely a solid debut!!!

FYI...Teedra is responsible for a certain set of popular lyrics:

Says he wants you
He says he needs you
If it's real talk then why not make him wait for you....

Thats right, Teedra wrote Dip It Low of the Christina Millian fame and her rendition could have blown the Beyonce look alike out of the water.

Dip it low
Pick it up slow
Roll it all around poke it out like your back broke
Pop, pop, pop that thang
I'ma show you how to make your man say "ooh"

The highlight of the night was Raphael Saadiq coming out to perform this beautiful love song with Teedra that he wrote for her album. They sounded great together and they seemed to have a little sexual chemistry between them, but I'm sure Raphael can have sexual chemistry with any woman...LOL! I will be picking up his new album as well.

Sorry, no report on Ceelo, I left before he hit the stage!!!
