Some of the best remakes ever....
A couple of weeks ago, fecundmellow posted a list of some of the wackest remakes ever made. Today, while searching my cd case for Mary's My Life cd, I got to thinking about how much I love that album. I laughed to myself because any true Mary fan knows that in addition to being the queen of hip hop soul, she is also the queen of remakes! The early part of Mary's career was built on remaking some r&b classics. Though many have hated on her remakes over the years, you can't deny that she has created a unique sound for herself in doing so. I can't think of any other artist who has remade as many songs as Mary has, but I can think of a few remakes that I love just as much, if not more than the original. Check it out!

i think d'angelo's remake of 'feel like makin' love' is pretty hot.
I guess great minds think alike!!!I don't think I've ever heard the D'Angelo remake! I think Destiny's Child, TLC and Jade did good jobs on those songs. I though I was the only one who ever listened to Jade.

I listened to Jade too... some friends of mine and I actually did a lip sync to "Don't Walk Away" in a talent show in college... don't ask...
However... can't agree on the TLC remake... that made me nauseous...

Yup, Nahmix, nauseous... I hated that remix... maybe because I feel like you should never remake a Prince song.... but that's just me.
I'm going to have to go with Summer 'nem on nixing the DC and TLC. Just didn't reach me. Too fucking cheesy for my blood.
